Despite her background (her dad co-produced Fleetwood Mac), Colbie took the underdog route by uploading her track "Bubbly" to social networking site MySpace and became an Internet musical sensation in her own right. There must be something special about this 22-year-old who wrote her first song after her first guitar lesson.And when you pop in her major label debut, Coco, in the stereo to check out what the fuss is all about, you'd find that the California girl has quite mastered the art of acoustic folk pop. Taking a leaf out of the book of Jack Johnson, Colbie not only has the mellow and laid back vibe down pat, she also concocts a vivid imagery of lazy afternoons, warm summer breeze and the lulling sound of the ocean though her songs like "Bubbly, "The Little Things," and "Midnight Bottle." Add in her flair for melody hooks, those songs are definitely perfect radio-friendly pop nuggets that not only rule the airwaves, but stick in your mind for a long time as well.Despite the general polished sheen of the album, the most wonderful thing about Colbie is that she sings with a lot of heart and soul, which makes Coco a sincere and unassumingly delightful soundtrack for this summer.

This is the decade where Dr. Seuss adaptations step into the world of animation and carry the hearts and minds of our younger generation onto the right path of values.Unlike enforcing stereotypes and discrimination, Horton Hears A Who brings a fresh plate of perspectives that explore life's baffling questions such as our significance on earth, the existence of a supreme being and the importance of emotions, both positive and negative.Apart from the stunning computer graphic animation, the characters are brought to life by the outstanding cast. Jim Carrey plays Horton, the friendly elephant with a vivid imagination, is 100% faithful and holds a deep-rooted belief that "People are people, no matter how small." Though Jim Carrey earns hearty chuckles like the seasoned comedian he is, for those who caught The Grinch a couple of Christmases ago, it might all seem a tad too familiar.Other colorful characters that grace the wonderful Seuss tale include the Mayor of Whoville (Steve Carell), a town where only smiles are tolerated and anything less will be either shunned away or called a "boob." Among the Mayor's entire 97 children loot, Jojo (Jesse McCartney) is the only son and underdog who teaches everyone that you do not need to always speak to be heard. Sometimes the best things can be heard from a bounce of a ball or a tap of an old keyboard. The Kangaroo, played by Carol Burnett, is a self-bestowed enforcer of the jungle who is vehemently against products of imagination. Her motto is, "If you can't see it, hear it, or feel it, it doesn't exist." But of course, she's about to be proven wrong. Horton Hears A Who teaches you many things, but the underlying message one would take home is to always have faith. You don't have to see, hear or feel something, as long as you believe in it and yourself, everything else will fall perfectly into place. It is a pity that the trailers gave away most of the funny bits, but if you're looking for something insightful while at the same time not too serious, Horton Hears A Who is for you!
